I've searched and searched and I haven't been able to get any help installing proxmox onto my scientific linux 6 server. Please don't question my choice of architecture as I need SL for very specific reasons.

Right now I have two nodes, both with SL 6. One node has OpenVZ, the second node has KVM. We're migrating from OpenVZ to KVM for numerous reasons, I'm excited about the potential of easy migration between the two systems using proxmox.

Has anybody tried installing Proxmox on SL. If so, were there any tutorials that you used?

That is not possible, Proxmox VE is based on Debian. You can install SL on Proxmox VE, but not the other way.
