I am new to proxmox backup. I have watch the videos, read the docs, but I can see how to schedule a file level backup on a host. Is the idea then to just use cron to issue the backup client command?

The other question I have, is I don't see how to specify a differential backup. Not sure I am using the right word. The idea, is to do a full backup on monday, and then every day it would be just a small backup of only files that have changed. I don't see any way to do that with the backup client from the cli.

I might be missing how this works. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

thanks
Brad

Yes, cron, systemd timer or whatever.

PBS is never doing differential backups. All backups are full backups and at the same time incremental because of the deduplication.
