I am adding extra sas card for extra ceph osd. (current on board card support only sas 2. and I need sas 3 . 12gbs)

what type of sas card to I need. cause there are lots of models and types.

all the supermicro ones we have came flashed it mode.

we have also bought them pre flashed on ebay.

and we've flashed not IT mode ones. i'd suggest just getting them pre flashed .

another question,
if we are going to get sata drives, do we need an lsi card as well ?

my supplier received the hardware,
1027R-72BRFTP, AOC-S3008L-L8e , ram,cpu,40G netrwork , sas3 ssds,

but we have some issues connecting it,
cause the sas controller have come with 2 MiniSAS HD (SFF-8643) and the mother board does not have matching connector to it.

any idea how to connect them?

another question, if the card is connected , can i use it with the on board sas connector?
(the card support 63 devices, but it have only 2*4 physical output ports)

get the connector specification for both ends and search at ebay or other stores.
