Hello,

Can anyone tell me if Proxmox can write directly to S3 compatible (Private object storage platform) storage. Have a customer who is using your product and wants to offload backups to our storage, and he can't seem to figure out how to do that. He added bucket but backups don't seem to be writing to the s3 bucket and can't figure out where they are writing to.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

There is no S3 integration from Proxmox GUI or via Proxmox CLI/API.
That said, Proxmox is based on Debian. If your company provides a shim of some sort that that presents your storage as a directory, that may be an option.
However, the performance of backup target is not irrelevant. It may be best to have any remote S3 storage as secondary copy of the backup.

The most efficient way for you to solve it, would be to install Proxmox in your lab and model the architecture.

Good luck
