RTNETLINK answers: File exists Failed to bring up eth2.

Hello i created some months ago a bridge between my private interface eth2 and proxmox (4.3)

Unfortunately the private network do not working anymore because the eth2 interface is inactive, i checked into the gui and i saw that is set yes to autostart and no to active......

So i tried to start the eth2 manually from ssh but im getting the following error:

root@prox:~# ifup eth2
RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Failed to bring up eth2.

I tryied also to run
root@prox:/etc/network# ifconfig eth2 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Device or resource busy


While this server have several productions VM is it possible to restart in a different way the eth2 without reboot the server ?

PVE 4.3 is out of support.
Please update to the current Version 5.2.
