After i add init=/bin/bash to then end on the linux line it gets stuck on Loading Initial Ramdisk what do i do?

That's unexpected and does not give much to go on. Maybe try one of the other ways to reset the root password? Maybe boot a Linux live ISO or put the drive in another system?
