Hi,

I want to replace my existing PBS machine with a new one (including new disks).

Is it enough to sync the datastore(s) of my existing PBS to the new machine (and, of course, set up the machine in the same way, i.e. the same users, same tape machine etc.) and then swap the new machine in to be able to go on like before? Particularly, will new backups from my PVE cluster be added to the archives (or not, if there are no changes compared to the last backup) and will new tape backups from the new PBS be added to the existing tape archives (or not, if there are no changes compared to the last backup)?

Thanks!

No idea about the tape backups, but otherwise syncing the old backups to a new server is no problem and allows you replace the PBS with no downtime.
