I have 2 Sync Jobs, with auto-generated Job IDs. One is a local sync, the other is a sync to remote storage.
Can these be rename to something more descriptive, to easier identify the jobs and their function, without much hazzle?
They are defined in the /etc/proxmox-backup/sync.cfg?

Is it simply a matter of change the name of the "sync: " and restarting PBS? - Or are there other things to take notice of?

I can't find the Job ID referenced in any other file. It should be fine to modify even without a restart. Don't forget that there's a comment feature.

the recommended way of doing this would be to re-create the jobs as new ones (providing the descriptive IDs you want) and remove the old ones. Renaming by editing the config will work in this particular case, though you must assure uniqueness and correctness yourself.
