[SOLVED] remove a Thin-LVM and freeup the disk used

i wish to remove the LVM-Thin from a Node's Disk to give the disk free to crate with a second Disk a small ZFS Pool!

on the Node the LVM-Thin have been created.
in the Gui Node level is nothing (no button) to remove it
in the GUI Datacenter level i could delete the Storage

so on the cli i triyed

# pvesm scan lvm
pve04-LVM-Thinpool

# pvesm remove pve04-LVM-Thinpool
delete storage failed: storage 'pve04-LVM-Thinpool' does not exist

any help to remove this LVM-Thin?

The "scan" option looks at underlying "raw" storage. The "remove" deals with the actual proxmox configuration, as defined in /etc/pve/storage.cfg.

Instead of "scan" you want to check with "status" - it will probably not list this pool as its not defined, or perhaps it has a different "friendly" name.

Once you remove the proxmox storage entry you will still need to use lvremove/pvremove etc to actually free storage.

yes it is removed in /etc/pve/storage.cfg

if i check with status i can't see the thin-LVM

but how to use the lvremove ?

It really depends on what you are trying to achieve and what your current configuration is. For example, is this a dedicated disk or shared with OS and other pools. Are you trying to clear just the Logical Volume, or also Volume Group and Physical Volume? The process is not difficult but the steps depend on the desired outcome.

i think i got it and removed everything

pvdisplay
vgdisplay
lvdisplay
lvs
pvs

just all show nothing anymore

GUI pve - node - Disk it show the DISK with Usage LVM2_member

with fdisk W return and g return and it was OK, so now i could create a ZFS SSD Pool
