remove a container with disk problems

I need to delete an LXC container that has an associated hard drive, which no longer exists

if the container already stopped, you can edit /etc/pve/lxc/[id] and remove the disk reference. Then use regular commands/UI.
Or you can just remove the config file "rm /etc/pve/lxc/[id]". There may be other disks, ie rootfs left behind to clean up.
