Hello All,
I am interested in giving Proxmox VE a try, but have a sort of "make or break" need. I have a dedicated server at a DC that I'd like to allow four or five other people to have a VM on.
However, I don't want to have to perform any management for them once I set up their VM's. I have been test-using Xen under CentOS 5 with Xen-Tools (www.xen-tools.org), and it seems to do everything I want, but I am intrigued by proxmox's technology and reputed performance improvements.
The Xen-Tools are VERY basic, but they give me exactly what I need to give my VM owners: a tool that they can use that will ONLY give them access to the management of their VM so that they can reboot (or even completely wipe out and reinstall) their VM without having to involve me at all. Xen-Tools also allow them to "SSH" into their server from the Xen-Tools shell even if they have "mucked" up their network configuration, as long as my host system still has internet access.
Does Proxmox have something similar that allows a third party to manage a VM without having access to any other VM or the host system - and, bonus - a similar ability to have SSH access to their VM even if they have hosed their internet access?
I have tried to search for the answer myself, but can't seem to come up with the right search terms to get me to the answers.
Thanks in advance,
