Hi,

Is it possible to reinstall proxmox without formatting the data partition, where vm machine disks reside?

Hi,

not from the iso. but you can reinstall the packages (via apt).

what the reason for this?

I configured a primary/primary cluster with drbd/ocfs2, but did an unnecessary apt-get upgrade of debian (on both nodes) to sid/squeeze, which messed up the system. I wanted to reinstall proxmox, leaving the data partition and metadata partition for drbd intact, so I can restore the cluster.

Is it possible to install Debian etch and then apt-get proxmox packages?

I test this...and the results was not so good :(

My advice to avoid loosing time with no reason: copy all your inportant data to a second disk or external storage devices, make a clean install and restore data (VM and settings) after that!

This is my advice!

i also want to do that

hi proxmox community

i also want to compile proxmox on my debian.

i already download all codes but unfortunately there are no instruction that guide you what to compile first. so i select pve-kernel and i make inside the directory and error appear.

can proxmox provide better documentation on compiling proxmox as separete package?

-Muhammad,

the main goal of the Proxmox VE project is to provide a ready to use environment - we compile everything for you. If you still want to compile the Kernel feel free to do it.

if you have any question we try to help - but you need to ask a "real" question for a specific issue, not just a global "please help".
