Ok, thinking that a migrate I was doing didnt finish, I deleted the VM on the new node. I then realized that it actually did complete, and I just destroyed the complete kvm (via commandline)

I tried to use lsof to recover, but it shows no vm disk images.

Is there any other way of recovering the data. The physical machine has not changed, the disks werent wiped, etc.

I do have most of the data on a dedicated machine, however, my billing data was not on that machine.

Thanks

Well, part of the reason I was migrating was the machine the vm was on was having hardware issues. Thats why most times it would time out on the migrate, and hence why I thought the migrate failed (as my ssh session died as well). Also due to the failing, I couldnt backup the vm to my nfs backup share.

I converted from a dedicated machine to the KVM, to allow me to more easily upgrade the server as needed, but I'm fairly certain I did not have my billing system up on the original dedicated system.

If there's no other way to recover, other than the lsof or grep methods, I'll rack up the old machine and pull the data back over, though it is about a month out of date.
