Recommended Shutdown Command for UPS

Just setting up NUT UPS on Proxmox VE and would like to ask what is the recommended command for shutting down proxmox so that all VMs shutdown gracefully and properly.

if you 'reboot' all OpenVZ containers will shutdown in a clean way. KVM guest will receive ACPI shutdown - depending on your guest system this will work or not - just test.

Many thanks Tom for your prompt reply, but would a /sbin/shutdown -h now command shut the VMs cleanly as well? What I need is to shutdown automatically in the event of power failure.
