Recommended Dell hardware monitoring method - PVE hypervisor

What method(s) are you using to monitor your Dell PVE servers*. My understanding is:

• Support for Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) is going EOL, had its last release September 2024.
• Dell ISM requires openssl 1.1.1 workaround for PVE 9x

* disk failures, hardware errors etc.

I can potentially plumb into a Grafana or librenms (SNMP). Though im looking at how to get the information in the first place. Historically I've used Dell OMSA on RHEL family OS.

Currently Zabbix since it is vendor independent, has official plugins for dell / idrac and is opensource.
The plugins for the newer dell servers also use snmp tho.
Grafana also supports Zabbix as source

Confirming. In Zabbix we have a few tens of hardware related metrics per a Dell server.

Ok how is that polling though - via the IDRAC/BMC or OS?

OMSA/ISM expose the Idrac through the OS

I might be able to poll SNMP to IDRAC ... but not sure yet, I need to check I'll be able to route from monitoring server
