Rebuilding pve-installer_2009-01-15.deb

Have you not read thru the GPL? It's there to protect the users rights to the software to modify and change as the user sees fit. In this case the proxmox ISO and environment for the entire project can't be reproduced outside your lab. As per CentOS... they had to fight to be able to reproduce the Redhat Distro outside of Redhat using the SRPM's and they did a service to the open source community that Redhat started to screw over and started to shoving Fedora down everyones throats. All the people that made Redhat what it was started CentOS as a community project. CentOS as a project has in some cases reacted faster to security fixes and even pushed changes back to Redhat. Working together is the spirit of Open Source... getting defensive about it when someone asks isn't. Our project pushes changes back up stream for every external library we use, sometimes they aren't accepted. We have to deal with that in those cases but in 99% of the patches we send up stream are accepted.

If you want to distribute a broken Open Source project that has little or no use to anyone outside your lab thats your prerogative. I see no value in doing that... having more people helping you by improving your project as a whole is a plus in my eyes.

Again thank you for your time.

As noted above, we even plan to release and fully automated CD appliance builder based on 'dab'. If you want to do something useful you can take that ball and start working on that. I will be glad to help you.

I would be happy to take the lead in testing and documentation of the process along discussion of the process and possible improvements via patches. You have my email address we can collaborate when ever you're ready.

Thanks,

Right now you can't even build vncterm deb it fails on debian...

vnctern fails because you use debian lenny, which provide a newer vnc library. You simply need to add the following include to vncterm.c

Code:
[FONT=Consolas]#include <rfb/keysym.h>[/FONT]
