Hi!
We are concidering Proxmox for a series of projects and are trying out Proxmox now for the very first time.

After the initial 60 minutes we ran into several issues. First of all, when trying to mount a read only NFS share, or a CIFS mount, we get the following error message, which does not mean much to me:

NFS:
create storage failed: mkdir /mnt/pve/ISO/template: Read-only file system at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/Storage/Plugin.pm line 1292. (500)

CIFS:
create storage failed: storage 'ISO' is not online (500)

The shares are working fine for for other Windows and Linux hosts.
After reading several posts, some from 2015, it seems like this is a known fault. Can someone confirm that read-only share will not work with Proxmox?

Thank you.

Thank you for the swift reply!
Ok, so Proxmox cannot mount existing read-only network storages, and use existing ISO-images.
I assume the workaround for NFS is to create another rw ISO storage for Proxmox, and duplicate the images .

How about CIFS/SMB? Even if the share is rw, we get the following error message:
create storage failed: storage 'ISO' is not online (500)
