Ramifications of changing primary NIC?

I’d like to switch from an Intel-based NIC, to a Mellanox brand NIC.

Nothing about the configuration would change, only the driver.

Am I wrong about this?

Is there more I need to consider?

What’s the best way to accomplish this and minimize the interruption?

Hey,

not really. Maybe check if there are reports of problems with the specific model and a specific kernel version, this is not very common, especially with recent hardware. But still, a quick search could save you some headache later on.

@akulbe I would remove all the VMs from the node, then do a clean reinstall. Then add back to the cluster to be safe.
