Hi,
I am quite new to Proxmox and can't find the best solutions for my installation.
I'm running FreeNAS today on an old server with 3x RAIDZ-1. This will I import to Proxmox.

My server is Supermicro X9DRi-F, 2x E5-2620 v2 128GB RAM.
I will import 2x 8x2TB RAIDZ-1 and 1x 4TB RAIDZ-1

I have also add 2x 256GB SSD to Mainboard.
HW Raid is not showing right on Proxmox.

I'm thinking to add a partition of 16GB for the OS and then use the rest for some VM on SSD. This work fine in EXT4, but I can't find the right solutions for this if I will use RAID1 ZFS. I have tested to set the OS disk to max. Then add ZFS from Proxmox GUI, this worked, but my VM disk was make to the root of rpool, not sure about this is a good solution. Or is the better to move the OS to one of my HDD raids and use the SSD only for VM?

Hi,

what is the problem with VM on rpool?
This MB doesn't have an HW raid. It has just a fake raid implementation of Intels RSTe what uses mdraid what is not supported by Proxmox.

I would use ZFS as you will anyway need the modules.
