Hello,
i upgraded successfully to PVE 3.2 on my wheezy. Now i saw that Kernel 2.6.32-27 is installed but i could install pve-kernel-3.10.0-1-pve via repository. a apt-get dist-upgrade didnt install this kernel. can some one explain it to me? and could i simply install the newer kernel?

Hi,
thanks for your answer. Can you explain the steps, why should i do so? Why download it from proxmox while it is in repo too? I whould simply install it via aptitude install pve-kernel-3.10.0-1... - should be the same. But why do i have pve 3.2 but Kernel 2.6?

yes i fyou have it in you rrepo, it's the same.

3.2 is pve version, and is referred to a whole set of packages, not a single one.
and pve can use different kernels, you install them and you can choose at boot, in grub

Hi Dietmar,

thanks. As i use debian stable i thought i see only stable packages, but thats it - i use the repo from pve so i see not only stable but also all available kernels, testing perhaps too. that means that as i upgrade pve to 3.x it installed latest stable kernel 2-6x, but in repo i can see all - right? ok as i have a problem with vmbr, it disconnected 1x time a day and doesnt go up again, i will try kernel 3.1x

Ah ok. I know i ask a lot but i am interested in pve and want to understand whats going why on... Can you say why this is an exception? If so it would break with the hole concept of stable, testing ....
