When doing my backups, (vzdumps, not PBS), I am noticing read speeds that are in the neighborhood of 2.0-2.5 Gib/second. But my write speeds are averaging 200-300 Mib/second, and sometimes in the sub 50Mib/second range. That seems slow to me unless I am misunderstanding something here. I have my TrueNAS server connected via NFS, and I am using a dual 10GBE (LACP) network connections all around (between the servers and the switch and the switch and my pfSense router). I have two pools in TrueNAS, one is a single VDEV mirror of Intel D3-s4510 SATA SSD drives, and the other is a striped mirror of Samsung SM863 SATA SSD drives with a NVME zfs log disk. There is no change in speed between the pools and no change in speed if I turn compression off. What is the limiting factor here? Is it the NFS protocol? When I do iperf3 testing on the network, all the links get 9.3-9.4 Gbits/sec, so I am pretty sure it is not the network.
