qcow2 hdd file size

hi, a little question, i have create a qcow2 hdd with 1 tb space. i have only installed linux and a tool, hdd size is 2.2gb, but qcow2 file on storage is 1 tb, why it is fullsoze and not autosize? how can i make it smaller? and how can i decrease the hdd in proxmox?

Pre-Allocation of space like that is for the best performance. The space is pre-allocated, but isn't used. do a du -h on your qcow disk, and you'll see it's actual size.
