pvesm remove hangs

I removed a backup NFS server without removing it from proxmox first. Now I'm trying to remove it and on my master, I tried removing it from the webgui but it times out. I then tried to remove it from the command line with
pvesm remove and it just hangs. If i try to edit the storage.cfg file directly, vi hangs as well.

I'm not exactly sure what to try next.

Hard mounted NFS hangs until the server is back again. So the only solution is bring up the NFS server again, or to reboot the host.

Even after rebooting the host, it doesn't allow me to remove the node.
