[SOLVED] PVE6 unsupported sfp+ modules

Hi,

intel ixgbe module. No sfp+ in slot:

When i add sfp+ in slot and reboot pve, there is logged:

pve-manager/6.0-5/f8a710d7 (running kernel: 5.0.18-1-pve)

Adding "unsupported" sfp+ -> ensX interface dissapear. Adding different -> no reaction. I need to remove and reinsert ixgbe module via modprobe to detect new sfp+.

Network cards are X520-DA2.

The drivers for the intel 10G+ nics have the parameter:

allow_unsupported_sfp

It's type has changed and I've also had occasions where setting it did not help, but have you tried loading the kernel module with the parameter set to '1'?

if this works with it you can add it as a snippet to '/etc/modprobe.d' and update your initramfs

else there's always the option to use a supported sfp+ module
