PVE Storage Replication vs. PVE-zsync?

My goal is to have another copy on another node in the same cluster but at a different location.

In looking at the chart on the zsync page:
  1. I wouldn't want my VMs replicated to every node in the cluster, nor would I want them replicated to every node that's running ZFS and SSH. Then again, maybe I don't understand what that means.
  2. Push or pull sounds good, either way.
  3. I like the GUI. The less CLI, the more likely someone else in the organization besides me will be able to manage it.
  4. I like snapshots.
  5. I also like migrations.
  6. I suppose I'd prefer redundancy to offsite backup, but assuming the offsite backup is easy enough to restore, I'm not sure I functionally care.

When using storage replication, you can chose which VM you want to replicate to which host. So you are in control of when and where a VM gets replicated to.
If you prefer GUI over CLI then clearly storage replication via PVESR is the better choice, especially if you want simple migrations.

pve-zsync offers a bit more control, and one or even both hosts (source and target) don't have to be PVE hosts, but it is not integrated.

For backups I'd suggest making either vzdump backups [0] or using the new Proxmox Backup Server [1]. This comes at a higher cost than simple zfs send/recv, but on the other hand doesn't interfere with storage replication.
You can add a second PBS instance at an offsite location and sync between your local and the offsite one.
