PVE on Dell IDSDM card

Hi,
Did anyone managed to install Proxmox on those internal sd cards that some Dell servers are shipped with ?
I saw some Esx installed systems like this, and it would be very helpfull to know if that's possible with PVE too.

Hi,

yes it is possible but I would not do it, because this sd cards are made for write once read many systems like esx.
Proxmox VE has its own logging what will write many times on this drive and so you will reach the wear-level very soon.

I just wanted to use the SD to chain load the NVME driver for EFI. My Proxmox boot device is on a NVME m.2/PCIe card.

I have a Dell PowerEdge R530.

How would one use the IDSDM card in this case? Am I better off just using a tiny USB stick?

I already bought the IDSDM card so I'm looking for a way to use it now... :-(
