PVE not assigning VM vlans, please help

With network interfaces configuration that I described, your VMs shouldn't see any vlan tags. You will see tags, if there are any, only on host physical interfaces. If you want tags inside VM, your configuration must be slightly different.
tcpdump is great tool for network analyze and solving network problems.

Running on PVE I see no traces of vlan-tags, so this was a good finding! :) Which would explain why it refuses to use one... Question now then is how to add them to vmbr0, right?
We should to get to know if there are MUST be on network interface, or not.

I suppose I could define IF's for each machine, but using tags will be much neater and a clear way to control from where they get their IPs. I separate my lans, and the VM's belong to different ones pending its purpose, quite usual config I suppose.

Then configure your router/switch to send tagged traffic to PVE
Yes, I will. I had a quick go at it before and well, did not exactly go according to "plan", so got to exercise some restoration of backups too... I will make a plan for what I need to have, and then write it down to follow when I am sure. But that will probably be a thing for tomorrow! :)
