Had not previously used the NOTES option for the Node, but thought I would on this new build.
Added some basic notes on what I ran initially, and specific IPs of the 'helper' pages and link backs to the source script from the PVE Help Scripts.

Joined it to my other node to move VMs across and when I went to update the page, it was completely blank - again.

It isn't a terrible loss... but annoying. I hadn't gotten to far into the page updates using Markups - but ..

Are the notes still there somewhere or are they just gone and I'll need to re-create all that I have done.

Hi,
from the docs:
All existing configuration in /etc/pve is overwritten when joining a cluster. In particular, a joining node cannot hold any guests, since guest IDs could otherwise conflict, and the node will inherit the cluster’s storage configuration. To join a node with existing guest, as a workaround, you can create a backup of each guest (using vzdump) and restore it under a different ID after joining. If the node’s storage layout differs, you will need to re-add the node’s storages, and adapt each storage’s node restriction to reflect on which nodes the storage is actually available.
The notes are also saved in /etc/pve. Feel free to open a feature request to preserve the node's notes (after checking none exists yet): https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/
