Recently installed a new 2.5Gb NIC on my PVE host. After doing so, I noticed it’s running slow. Logging into the web interface, navigating between stuff, opening up shell, etc… VMs are running fine though which makes it all that much more confusing to me.

This is the NIC:
NICGIGA 2.5G Base-T PCIe Network Adapter, Realtek RTL8125B 2.5Gbps/1Gbps/100Mbps PCI Express Gigabit Network Card https://a.co/d/2XUwq0n

I have the same NIC installed in one of my other servers and no issues there. Only recent change to PVE host before installing the new NIC was upgrading from v7 to v8.

The server itself is old but before installing the NIC it was running fine:

HPE DL360 G6
Dual Intel Xeon X5670 2.93Ghz
144GB Registered ECC RAM
Boot Drive: Dual 960GB 2.5” SSD SATA (Mirrored)
Storage: 2x2TB 2.5” HDD SAS 7.2k (backups); 1x2TB M.2 PCIE NVME SSD (VMs)

Haven’t had time but going to remove the new NIC and see if that makes a difference. Anything else I should be checking? Thanks.
