PVE host loses connection to LAN shortly after boot

Hi friends, new user of Proxmox here. I successfully installed the OS on a machine earlier today, and was just about to move onto the web configuration phase when I encountered this problem, which completely stopped me in my tracks.

So this is my current situation: when the PVE host OS is first booted up, the network appears to be working correctly. I can ping the PVE host (192.168.0.50) from another machine on the LAN, and it can also ping other machines on the LAN as well. You can see from the first attached image of the PVE terminal that, right on first boot, I login as the root user, and ping my LAN's router at 192.168.0.1. For the first ~20 packets, the PVE host pings are successful, however after that, it fails and it can no longer reach any other host on the LAN, as can be seen from the screenshot. It's the same story when I try to ping the PVE from another machine; when it first get booted up, it appears to be reachable, but very quickly afterwards, no longer so.

At the very beginning of a new boot session, I can even access the web console at https://192.168.0.50:8006, as can be seen in the second attached image. However very soon afterwards, it no longer works, and when I click on any of the UI nav links, nothing loads.

I'd also disconnected the PVE host from the LAN, and directly connected a laptop assigned with the static IP of 192.168.0.200 to it. Exact same story. I believe this check rules out the possibility that the misbehavior is caused by some misconfiguration on the LAN itself.

Has anyone run into this similar issue, or know what might be going on here?

Hi,

Please check the traffic using tcpdump or Wireshark and see what's going on, also please post our network configuration (cat /etc/network/interfaces) from Proxmox side and the output of ip -a
