Hi,
we are running Proxmox VE in a 2-node cluster configuration + DRBD with KVM-based VMs. We do regular backups of the VMs and transfer the VM backup data to an offsite location.
We would like to have a complete disaster recovery plan which enables us to rebuild the whole cluster setup from scratch and restore the VMs (bare metal recovery) in a reasonable time (4-8h).
It looks like the PVE and KVM VM configuration data is stored under /etc/pve and /etc/qemu-server. Is it enough to backup these configuration data and the DRBD and LVM configuration of both nodes to do to do a full system restore? What else has to be considered to be able to do a bare metal recovery?
regards,
stephan.
