Hi, maybe a stupid question, but it would help me understand.
I have a primary SSD where I loaded proxmox. Once the correct setting is found, should PVE backup be performed every day anyway?
Can I eventually clone the SSD on an identical one with clonezilla to get a copy?
Thank you very much

Did you set up a backup job? If the backup job is set up correctly it should perform the backup in the chosen interval. Depending on which storage you have chosen (in your case probably local / local-lvm), it should be sufficient to create a clone of the SSD to get a copy of all backups.

Ok, but backup is needed every day if the configuration doesn't change?
Depends on your use case. Does your VM have data that changes every day that should be backed up? Then it makes sense to run a backup every day. It's less about the configuration, but more about the data you have in your VM and how important it is to you to back it up.
