So I upgraded to PVE 8 in my cluster, first two servers, no issues. But on the server with RAID, I had to blacklist the driver I have for my LSI 9300-8i (which is based on the SAS 3008 IO controller). The driver I was using under PVE 7x was mpt3sas/33.00.00.00
This is a proprietary binary driver provided by LSI, it doesn't work under Debian 12 (I guess no longer supported SUBDIRS on make). Anyhow, their website driver link appears broken so I can't even locate a more recent driver (if they have it). So I'm looking for a well supported alternative.
I need PCIE 3 with SAS/SATA support (6Gbps SATA), it's a 4U server chassis, so I have room. I only need 4-ports (raid 10), but 8 works if there are better options. Again, a known working option for PVE 8/Debian 12, I'm on the Intel x99 platform.
Thanks in advance,
Bruce
