PVE 8.4 — anyone just... not upgrading?

Been running 8.4 for a while now, single-node homelab, nothing critical. Just a few VMs for self-hosted stuff and some LXC containers.
System's been rock solid so I haven't felt the need to touch it. You know how it is — if it ain't broke.
Not really concerned about security patches since nothing is exposed externally. More curious about the longer term — once 8.x hits EOL, does anything actually break on its own, or does it just mean no more updates and you're flying blind? Repos still work? QEMU/kernel still gets loaded fine?
I've been through Debian EOL cycles before so I know the general drill, just wondering if PVE has any extra quirks on top of that.

Besides the updates from Debian, most core parts like kernel and QEMU are fully controlled by Proxmox, and those won't get any updates after the EOL date.

So yes, after this date you'll lack updates for all issues, including security fixes, so this very much is security relevant.

The date is communicated over a year before it happens, so anybody that wants to avoid this has enough time to upgrade to a newer version.
And the warning in the web UI is now also using a two-step approach: First, just as info-level for a few weeks and relatively shortly before the actual date it...
