The hypervisor runs on an Intel NUC (8 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8365U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1 Thread) with 32 Gib RAM and the following packages installed.

I follow the steps described in https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_2019_guest_best_practices to install a Windows server 2019 guest. Everything is ok until Windows installer says it is copying files. The host hangs when it copies around 65% of the files: lost connection, no response to physically connected keyboard neither. I have several tries but get the same results.

hi,

* is this the first VM you're setting up or do you already have other guests running?

* can you check journalctl and post what happens around the time it hangs?

Hello,

It is not the first VM as I have already been running an OPNsense VM on the hypervisor.

Sorry for not being able to provide with the journalctl result as I have gave up and formatted the hard disk drive to install another system. I did check logs in the web UI and failed to find anything suspicious.

are you able to install windows normally after reinstallation?

it's hard to tell what the issue was, but if you want to try again please post the VM configuration here, it might have been a simple misconfiguration
