PVE 4.0 Beta2 + qemu + acpi

Also, can you try to launch the qemu process manually ?

you can have the command like with a simple "ps -aux".
find the "kvm -id xxx ...." line when is vm is started from gui

stop the vm.

then launch the vm with pasting the command line, with removing "-daemonize" option from command line.

and check if some error message are displayed or not.

Also maybe can you look at kernel log, with:

Code:
journalctl -f _TRANSPORT=kernel

and
Code:
dmesg

I'll wait and give a try. If nothing changes will try to downgrade and determine wich package breaks PVE

No luck... still getting: Guest has not initialized the display (yet)

Ok, some other things to try (sorry I can't reproduce, so I can't test myself)

edit

/usr/share/perl5/PVE/QemuServer.pm

comment lines:

push @$cpuFlags , 'hv_vapic' if !$nokvm;
push @$cpuFlags , 'hv_time' if !$nokvm;
push @$cpuFlags , '+kvm_pv_unhalt' if !$nokvm;
push @$cpuFlags , '+kvm_pv_eoi' if !$nokvm;

(this is the new the kvm flags for proxmox 4.0 vs 3.4).

restart pvedaemon

/etc/init.d/pvedaemon restart

then stop/start the vm and see if it's help

Downgrading PVE-QEMU-KVM to pve-qemu-kvm_2.3-6_amd64.deb does the trick!

Seems we've sent our messages at the same time.

Upgrading to QEMU 2.4 breaks PVE
With pve-qemu-kvm_2.3-6 everything works as expected
