Folks,

I am in no way an expert in the Proxmox products. I am having an issue that has got me boggled.

I have recently reinstalled my Promox from scratch and have gotten everything working except that the pubic interface (eno1/vmbr0) is not pulling an IP address from my ISP. I have tried modifying the INTERFACES file to change it to DHCP but that didn't work. By default that interface is set to MANUAL.

The ens2f0/vmbr1 and ens2f1/vmbr2 are working just fine for internal interfaces.

What am I missing? I know it has got to be something easy.

NOTE: I have a VMWare box set up exactly the same way and it is working just fine on all interfaces.

Can you show your /etc/network/interfaces file? Redact any possible public IPs.

is not pulling an IP address from my ISP
Am I right to assume that it is directly connected to your ISPs modem and you want to run the router for your network in a VM?

Aaron, you are correct. I am attached directly to my Fiber OTN and I am running pfSense on a VM. The pfSense is also not seeing the Internet or pulling an IP because the host interface is not working.

The funny thing is, when I was installing the host server and I selected the ISP interface it did show an IP being pulled.
