PSA: "Windows 11 instillation has failed" - SOLVED

Hi All, after wasting many hours trying to work out why, I have solved my issue of "Windows 11 instillation has failed" during install.

I have TrueNAS running on Proxmox with some shares into Proxmox for backups and holding data (such as ISOs). Turns out if I try use a Windows install ISO it will fail 1/4 of the way into an install with the message "Windows 11 instillation has failed". Not sure if this is a limitation of my system, or something else. I did notice the download would sometimes not have the correct SHA checksum so could be some sort of issue when downloading the ISO to network storage...

As soon as I moved the ISO to local storage in Proxmox the install worked flawlessly.

Hopefully this can someone in the future.
 
Hi, today I encountered exactly same issue. We have Synology, and I am storing ISOs there. So I moved that ISO to local storage and install worked.

Same problem here with an exported .iso from a SMB/CIFS from Windows.

I, too, moved that ISO to local storage and installation worked without any problem.

Its look like a networking delay problem ... ¿? I don't know.



Note: Also I have to use a SATA connection for my hard disk. SCSI did not work.
