Hi all,

I’m having an issue after installing a 10Gtek X540-T2 10GbE network card (Intel X540 chipset) into my Proxmox server.

With the card installed, the system shows the BIOS splash screen, but as soon as it tries to load Proxmox the screen goes black and I lose video signal. It never actually boots. If I pull the card out, everything starts up fine again with no issues.

Just wondering if anyone has run into this before? Is there a driver or firmware I need to get this card working with Proxmox, or could it be a compatibility issue?

Here’s the card for reference:

Thanks in advance for any help.

Something similar happened with an Intel card that was vendor locked for HP servers. As soon as I had the card in the system would refused to boot.

Is any of your VMs configured with passthrough already?
No not yet, but my plan was to pass the RTX 5060 to Plex.

Is there a command to verify no passthrough is set to the containers (if that is possible) or VM's?
