As the subject implements, is it still the recomendet way for perfomance oriented approaches to not use the Virtio Balloon Driver for Windpows, even with Prox. 8 ?
You always have to balance between "good virtualization performance" and "raw performance".
Best performance is using 1 GB hugepages with kvm, so no ballooning for best memory allocation speed, yet this is e.g. not live migratable.
