I have an SSL VPN solution running (Adito/OpenVPN ALS) with the option to proxy from the SSL site to other sites. It crossed my mind that it could be very handy to have secure access from anywhere to my proxmox boxes.
I chose the replacment proxy option, entered the ip of the proxmox box just like i did with some other sites.
The proxmox web interface is loading fine, I can login, but....
Local System Status says "Server not reachable" and can't see the server status, nor any virtual machines! Are there some other ports involved than tcp port 443? I just can't see how the webpage itself is loading but can't connect to itself....Can't see anything blocked in log files
Website is working fine without proxy, by the way.

Are there some other ports involved than tcp port 443?

No, it should work with port 443. If you want to use the VNC console you also need to open port 5900-6000

Anyway, does it help if you also open port 80 (just a guess).

all ports are open now, still not working.
How does the site query kvm to show KVM status, virtual machines etc? Using javscript? Website shows on login page javascript is ok. Still think that is has to do something with the replacement proxy not rewriting some regular expressions correctly for the javascript proxmox is using.
first replaceent rule looks like this:
((?:[;\s]+image|[\s;]+ur .. $1%2 application/x-javascript Rec. content
