Proxmox Virtual Environment Version: 3.2-4/e24a91c1, system running for 5 months. Was adding more VMs and don't know if this is a coincidence but when we reached the 25th VM, the VNC console though the web gui stopped working for all VMs. The following error is shown in syslog:

Code:
Nov 5 11:10:48 proxmox pvedaemon[5044]: <root@pam> end task UPID:proxmox:00019E85:007A8631:545A681E:vncproxy:103:root@pam: command '/bin/nc -l -p 5900 -w 10 -c '/usr/sbin/qm vncproxy 103 2>/dev/null'' failed: exit code 1

I shutdown each VM individually and rebooted the host then started each one up yesterday. The consoles started working. Came in today and the VNC consoles had stopped working again with the same error message. Is there a limit to the number of VNC that are available or nc's ports? I can ssh into the VMs without a problem and access their web GUIs. :(

Re: Proxmox web GUI VNC console stopped working on all VMs

Looks like a problem with my laptop. Went to another PC and can console in fine. I will research further to find exactly why my laptop stopped working with VNC.

Re: Proxmox web GUI VNC console stopped working on all VMs

I take it that you mean "delete cookie" from the web browser? I tried 3 different web browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I'll delete them all and see what happens. I'm leaning towards a java problem at this time.

Re: Proxmox web GUI VNC console stopped working on all VMs

use the noVNC HTML5 Console instead and you can't have any problem with java anymore

Re: Proxmox web GUI VNC console stopped working on all VMs

I disabled cookies but it didn't make a difference. Compared Java versions and they are identical to the working console. Noticed that in the Opera web browser there are a lot of CSS errors. don't know if this is an Opera problem or console webpage programming problem. So Opera doesn't work but now Firefox on my laptop now works. Here's the Opera CSS error:

I like that, now just to upgrade to 3.3 so I can use that option.

For those who might run down this same road. To change to the HTML5 Console: go to the Proxmox web GUI, select the Datacenter Folder then Options tab, double click on the Console viewer and select HTML5 viewer. Simple and sweet.
