Proxmox VM firewall does not affect if installed Debian 11 kernel level firewall is enabled

hello i have installed debian 11 on proxmox vm i use nftables with default netfilter rules .
i just experimented and enabled proxmox VM firewall adding rules incomming traffic to Reject .
i am wondering why i am still enable to connect to my debian server via ssh.

u have to enable firewall on the host and in the network config of the vm
