Proxmox, VM and SSL certificate

Hi,
I have a Proxmox server with a VM running a web application
The web pplication has it's own subdomain and I need an SSL certificate for it.
My stupid question is:
I have to generate the CSR and the private key in Apache modSSL from the node or from the VM?
I suppose from the VM isn't it?

as the apache is running inside your VM you need to generate the csr inside the VM
