Hey,

the removal occurs after the new backup is finished, if verification is enabled, that means also after the verification. Note, that if you run vzdump manually the -remove flag has to be set to 1 if pruning should happen(it is 1 by default).

Hi,
when using PBS, the recommended way is to configure the retention/prune options in PBS directly. Just use a daily schedule and Keep Last 7. On the PVE side you should then select the Keep all backups checkbox for the PBS storage. Then PVE is not concerned with retention anymore and let's PBS itself do the job.

I am talking about the PVE backup. The backup that is store in drive that is connected to PVE. Not PBS. PBS is working ok.

Ok, I was confused, because the screenshot in the first post shows PBS. For PVE you'll need to use the CLI and specify the remove flag as @Hannes Laimer suggested. We are currently working on making it possible to specify the flag in the GUI too.
