Hello, everybody,

i am trying to install Proxmox 6.1-2 on a Supermicro X11DPI-N at the moment. On the motherboard is an:

"Intel C621 controller for 14 SATA3 (6 Gbps) ports; RAID 0,1,5,10"

I created a RAID5 volume in the BIOS and made it bootable. However, the Proxmox installer shows me four individual disks instead of a RAID volume.

Is this a fake RAID?

many greetings
sven

Hi,
I'm in the same situation. is there any solution yet?

Hi Carlos, just plug disks onto onboard ports, dont use onBoard-RAID-Controller its not working with linux. In Proxmox just use ZFS as a local storage and for your os-boot-device (zfs raid1 for example). You dont need RAID on Proxmox in my opinion, but if you think you do, buy hardware-raid controller instead.

I have installed a RAID controller. I have read up on ZFS superficially and think in the long run this is the better choice.

Before I use ZFS on productive systems I have to understand it correctly.
