Hello Proxmox community,

I'm encountering a perplexing issue during the installation of Proxmox VE, specifically related to network configuration. Despite following the installation steps carefully, I'm facing challenges in setting up network connectivity for my Proxmox host.

Here's a brief overview of my situation:

  1. Installation Media: I used the latest Proxmox VE ISOfor installation.
  2. Network Configuration: I opted for manual network configuration during installation, providing IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server details.
  3. Error Encountered: After completing the installation, I noticed that my Proxmox host is unable to establish network connectivity. I've confirmed that the provided IP details match my network settings.
I've checked the network cables, confirmed that the gateway is reachable from the host, and tried restarting networking services, but the issue persists.

Has anyone encountered a similar network configuration problem during Proxmox VE installation? Could there be any specific configurations or troubleshooting steps that I might be missing?

Thank you.

What is your (local?) network like; as in router/gateway address, address of another system on the local network that you intend to use to manage Proxmox?
As in every case of "installed Proxmox and cannot reach it", please provide the output of cat /etc/network/interfaces and ip a from the Proxmox host console.
