Hi,

I hope I am in the right place with my inquiry. I am currently doing an internship at my university's security research institute and one of my projects is on Ransomware modeling and analysis. For sand-boxing I am using Cuckoo 2.0.7 but instead of using the default Virtualbox virtualization machinery, I have been tasked to use Proxmox VE 8.0.3.

At the moment all my assests (VMs on 3 separate vlans) are set within Proxmox on one machine, and my Cuckoo box is a separate machine. The network part (within Proxmox) is all working, meaning all hosts can ping each other. I have also configured Cuckoo to use Proxmox as the machinery, as detailed in https://github.com/snus-b/proxmoxcuckoo and https://trustedsec.com/blog/working-with-proxmox. However, for some reason I am not able to install proxmoxer with python 2.7 pip (per the 2 aforementioned websites) and I am not able to get Cuckoo to communicate with Proxmox.

Any reason I am not able to install proxmoxer, and is it possible to get Cuckoo to work with Proxmox without installing proxmoxer? Please let me know what compatibility issues I am having. I would really appreciate any help. Also please let me know if further information is needed. Thanks in advance.

cheers,
Jaston
