Hi,

Fucking brillant Hetzner just release there AX101 servers, with (for about 118 euros / per month) :
- AMD Ryzen™ 9 5950X 16-Core
- 128 GB DDR4 ECC
- 2 x 3,84 TB NVMe SSD Datacenter Edition

https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver/ax101

CPU Benchmark is impressive (46000+ score) :

However my concern is about the limitation of Ryzen 9, that are usally built for desktop pc instead of server.

What kind of limitations may I have as an entreprise-server usage (comparing to a Xeon Silver for instance) ?

And in particular, what kind of limitations with Proxmox VE ?

Thank you very much!

To be honest there is not much difference between the AMD Consumer CPUs and the Server Processors.

Server CPUs have:
- validated ECC
- More memory Channels
- more PCI-E lanes

keep in Mind Ryzen CPU have ECC, but not official support for it, so some Mainboards will not actually enable ECC.

I currently run proxmox on an 35W Ryzen 3400GE and have no issues with stability or performance.
