Hi everyone,

I am experiencing an issue when installing Proxmox VE on my HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10. During installation, the server either freezes and restarts automatically or displays the following message before rebooting:

watchdog: watchdog detected hard LOCKUP on CPU 10

I have tried the following, but the issue persists:

  • Updated the BIOS to the latest available version.
  • Changed the workload profile from General Compute Power Savings to Virtualization – High Performance.
  • Tried both Proxmox VE 9.x and 8.x, with the same result.
RHEL and XCP-ng install and run successfully on the same server. So far, I have encountered this issue only with Proxmox VE.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior on an HPE DL380 Gen10? Are there any BIOS settings, kernel parameters, or compatibility issues I should investigate?

Please let me know which logs or additional hardware details would help diagnose the issue.

Thank you for your assistance.
